Introducing Teepa’s GEMS® for Alzheimer’s & Dementia Care

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Is your family struggling to manage care for a loved one with Alzheimer’s, dementia, or other brain disease? Distraught as you see them lose their cognitive abilities – perhaps even the ability to recognize individual family members?

You are not alone. Many in our community are dealing with these painful issues. You want not only compassionate care for your loved one, but a way to rekindle that connection you used to have.

At Assisting Hands of Columbus, OH, we are committed to adding life to the years of our clients and their families. Caring for those with brain diseases is especially challenging, and we were lucky to discover Teepa Snow’s Positive Approach® to Care (PAC).

Teepa Snow is a dementia care educator who has learned how to create connection in seemingly impossible circumstances. We’ve invested thousands of hours in PAC training for our caregivers in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky and look forward to expanding into Columbus next year.

In this video, Teepa explains her GEMS® model that classifies and defines changes in a person with dementia. By focusing on ability rather than loss, GEMS® gives you a new way to think about your loved one and offers insight into what they are experiencing as their disease progresses. Over the next several months, we’ll be focusing on each GEM and how to help your loved one with brain disease shine.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_raw_html]JTNDaWZyYW1lJTIwd2lkdGglM0QlMjI1NjAlMjIlMjBoZWlnaHQlM0QlMjIzMTUlMjIlMjBzcmMlM0QlMjJodHRwcyUzQSUyRiUyRnd3dy55b3V0dWJlLmNvbSUyRmVtYmVkJTJGWjZVVmpwX3k4SFklMjIlMjBmcmFtZWJvcmRlciUzRCUyMjAlMjIlMjBhbGxvdyUzRCUyMmFjY2VsZXJvbWV0ZXIlM0IlMjBhdXRvcGxheSUzQiUyMGVuY3J5cHRlZC1tZWRpYSUzQiUyMGd5cm9zY29wZSUzQiUyMHBpY3R1cmUtaW4tcGljdHVyZSUyMiUyMGFsbG93ZnVsbHNjcmVlbiUzRSUzQyUyRmlmcmFtZSUzRQ==[/vc_raw_html][/vc_column][/vc_row]
